Judging others

Judging others is a trap that many people fall to. I am actually one of the people who judge a lot and I try to stop it. Thus, I will not try to pretend that I am in any way superior to anyone who may be reading this. Part of me is actually writing this article for myself. I think that it will help me too if I write why I shouldn’t judge.

So, let’s start. I will start with explaining some things regarding why we shouldn’t judge. Judging is rooted in pride. It is rooted in the belief that we are better than others and we are not capable to commit the sin that the people we judge are committing (Ntani, 2020). The thing is that religion actually teaches that everyone is capable of any sin. We are all capable of any sin and our pride makes us think that we are in a superior position to others, and thus in a position to judge others.

I suppose that there are different circumstances that would lead different people to sin or that some people may commit sins easier than others. I don’t know exactly what is happening and why, but the fact that all of us can do all the sins means that we are all in this together. There is no point judging others when we are also capable of committing the same sins. Who do we think that we are? We are not better than others. God is the only one with no sin, so He is the only one in a superior position and thus, the only one who has the right to judge.

Finally, an interesting thing to realise is that judging comes back to us. For instance, someone was judging others for some family problems and then his kid got sick (Balanthsberoia, 2020).
