Kate is a girl who used to have no religion. She started searching about religions at some point later in life. She is also a psychologist and she is very interested in how the mind works. After searching many religions, she started to believe that orthodoxy is that the only religion that prepares the human being to face life. It gives structure to the mind and teaches how to successfully deal with problems without breaking ties, but on the contrary, strengthening and caring for human relationships.
There are some interesting things that this girl told me about the human mind that I wanted to share. First of all, the human mind need consistency, so lies and hypocrisy confuse it and may even make it lose its reality and cause schizophrenia (yes, I am not kidding. These cause schizophrenia).
An important thing about orthodoxy is that the Bible talks about honesty (“Be, then, your way of speaking, yes, yes; or not, not; that what happens from this comes from a bad beginning, - Gospel according to Saint Matthew V, 37”). God asks us to be honest about things that you say. If you say e.g. “yes” to someone, but you mean something else, this is from the devil.
Another thing that is good for human prosperity and also the human mind is structure. By structure, I mean some rules that exist and everyone has to obey, so there is a structure to the system. It isn’t a chaos. Not all religions have that. In religions where incarnations are believed to exist, for example, there is no structure. There are no consequences beyond a scratch, there is no God who judges and there is no structure.
However, everything that has no structure collapses. Even bacteria need a cytoskeleton. Without structure, madness is a great probability. Chaos is bad for society, but it is also bad for the mind. It can lead to many pathologies to people. Kate examined many things about the human mind and the teachings of orthodoxy seemed to be consistent with them and ask people to do things that were good for their mind.
Therefore, this girl concluded that orthodoxy is the truth because it is seems to be the only religion that fully prepares well humans for their life and it is also what seems to benefit their mind. I personally have talked about the fact that the orthodox way of life seems to be perfect before (see article "why orthodoxy").
No imperfections have ever been found in terms of what orthodoxy teaches as good for people. For me, this is a sign of a true religion. This is because humans are fallible, so something that has been made by humans would definitely have some imperfections.
