Homosexuality

I just wanted to say a few words on homosexuality and why christianity is against it. First of all, before you get angry, I want you to listen to my story as a person and the reasons why religion has this view about homosexuality.

As I have said in other articles, I wasn't raised in a family very close to God. I was actually raised to believe that there is nothing wrong with being homosexual. It made perfect sense to my family that since someone is not hurting anyone, there is no reason why he shouldn't do something. However, there are deeper reasons why religion opposes homosexuality and they are not rooted in hating people, as many people think. Not the reasons that I have become aware of at least.

To begin with, religion is against anything that is not an act of love. Many people do HETEROSEXUAL relationships that are rooted in using someone for pleasure and not actually caring for this person or loving that person. The church is against these relationships, simply because Jesus came here to teach us to love people and whenever we do something that does not show love to people, this is a behaviour that Christians shouldn't do.

Homosexual relationships are not based on love (Morelli, 2020). Homosexuals do not have relationships based on love and cannot feel love for each other the same way that a heterosexual couple can. For this reason, these relationships are not approved by the church.

Moreover, one of the purposes of marriage, based on orthodox christianity, is the propagation of mankind through having children (Morelli, 2020). This is not something that homosexuals can do. Thus, their relationships do not fulfill a purpose that marriage has and marriages between homosexuals cannot be allowed.

Finally, there is one more important thing about homosexuality and this is the fact that it is actually an act of blasphemy (Morelli, 2020). In particular, God created woman for man and man for woman. Thus, He didn't create a man for man or a woman for woman.

Saying that a man should be your life companion (if you are a man) is a blasphemy to God. This is because God created woman specifically to serve you in things that you need (and the opposite). Saying that someone else can do the job better is a blasphemy towards God because you are basically telling God "I know better than you who can serve me and complete me". This is a prideful statement. Who are we to say that God was wrong in his decision to bring us someone of the opposite sex and we are right?! This is definitely blasphemy and also a belief routed in pride.

Something similar applies to our organs. The sexual organs of humans were built for the reproduction and the sexual intercourse between a male and a female. They weren't built to be used in the ways that homosexuals use them. It is blasphemy and prideful to claim that we know better how to use them. Therefore, we shouldn't make such statements.

Finally, I want to end by saying that before hearing these I had no idea why christianity is against homosexuals and it didn't make sense to me either. However, these reasons make sense to me and I don't see any misanthropy in them. They don't oppose homosexuality because they are against you enjoying your life the way that you want. They are opposing it because there are actual serious reasons.
