5 reasons why God allows the devil to give us temptations

5 reasons why God allows temptations are (Life in Christ, 2022):

1. So that we learn to discern virtues from bad things through our experience of this war with the temptations.

2. So that we feel obliged to stick with certainty to virtues.

3. So that we don’t get proud when we see that we make a lot of progress in virtues, but instead realise that every progress is a gift from God.

4. So that we become more humble, realise, hate, confess and stop our sins, which are the reasons for the temptations.

5. So that we don’t forget how weak we are and the strength of God, when we manage to progress in a virtue.

All of these show God’s love. Another interesting thing for us to know is that God allows temptations only when something good will result from them.
